2023 - Living in the Moment

Another year has come and gone, and what do I have to show for it?

At first, I thought I would share all of the highlights; with smiling faces, beautiful landscapes and just the right lighting…but that seemed a bit too picturesque.

In contrast, I considered sharing all of the LOWS, of which there were many…but no one wants to hear a sob story.

Instead, I want to tell you how this last year has changed me.

You know the old adage, “Wherever you go, there you are”?

I lived this year fully present in the moment.

If you know me and anything about my past, this is no small feat!

From the hospital bedside to the sandy shore…I was there.

·        I forced myself to feel everything I was trying to gloss over

·        Leaned in to hard conversations

·        Made new friends

·        Worked through old junk I was hanging onto

·        Started prioritizing my health – I even went to a few doctor appointments (IYKYK)

·        Let go of expectations I had for myself and others

·        Spent countless hours with old friends- laughing, crying, and dreaming

·        Less judging…leading with LOVE

As Zach Williams says, I lived “A little more like Jesus, a little less like me.”

And with that…I have no regrets…no need for do-overs…just a sense of excitement and anticipation for what this next lap around the sun holds.

As we embark on this new year, I am praying this for each and every one of us.

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that God may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you would know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know Him better, the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people.
— Ephesians 1:16-18

May the eyes of our hearts be enlightened, and may we know him better.
